Forest Stewardship Council

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC® – www.fsc.org) is independent, non-governmental, non-profit organisation, which was established with an aim to promote the responsible world’s forest management.

The organization provides the standard conditions, trademark (TM) warranty and accreditation services for the companies, which are interested in the responsible forest management.

The products, which contain FSC® trademark are independently certified, which warrants for the users that this product is made of wooden materials coming from the forests, managed in accordance with FSC® requirements. There requirements provide the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international sustainable forest management certificate, which provides at the same time the environment-friendly, socially responsible and cost-effective forest management. FSC® certificate marking is placed on all wooden products, which come from environment-friendly managed forest.
FSC® forest management and FSC® supply chain certificate nowadays is acknowledged between users in the whole world, as evidenced by more than 102 million hectares of FSC® certified forests in all parts of the world and more than 10400 issued FSC® timber supply chain certificates.

Why FSC®?

Only FSC®
  • prohibits the modification of natural forests and other nature places in the whole world,
  • prohibits to use high hazard pesticides in the whole world,
  • prohibits the breeding/cultivation of genetically modified trees,
  • respects the right of aboriginals in all countries of the world,
  • controls each operation of certification at least once a year, in the event of non-conformities the certificate is voided.
FSC® is the only one certification system, which is supported by all largest environment protection groups. Many certification assessors, for example, “green building council” in USA and Australia as a sustainable proof accepts only FSC® certificate.

The product range of FSC® is growing a day by day. Nowadays almost each product is available in FSC® quality, and basically these products are not more expensive than non-certified, but often in a better quality.
